great weekend, or mostly great. I was under the weather for much of it but I think it was just allergies seeing as i'm fine now.
the kids and i went to Deacon while Jay had a solo weekend in town.
Saturday was mostly spent outside enjoying the sunshine and getting that first bit of sun. Sunday was all about me on the couch watching old school 80's cartoons (She-Ra and Thundercats) followed by a Scooby-Doo marathon (oldies). it was great!
today we had a mostly sunny day and got the back yard mowed while the kids chased each other while screaming like banshees. our neighbors must love us.
back to work tomorrow and it promises to be a busy week. let's look at it as a "challenge" (insert fingers down throat)
I like pretty things and I don't care if they come from IKEA, Kelly Wearstler, or the curb.

I'm a spool of thread
after a week spent cramming and handing in last minute assignments (just 2 out of 9 to go!) Susan and I took a road trip to Hudson Quebec to check out Finnegan's Antique/Flea market.
Hudson is about 1.5 hours to get to and is situated on the Ottawa River making for a beautiful landscape yet extremely narrow roads!
And, it was pure real estate porn! check out MLS for some visuals if you must.
Finnegan's was lovely, though we arrived mid day so I'm assuming there would have been a bit more in the morning. The family that runs the market also makes reproduction old-school Quebec pine furniture. Prices were insanely decent, a kitchen island for 1095 and huge pantry cupboards for about the same. you can choose your stain and finish and they make custom peices too. I would love either a pantry or an island to add some warmth and character to an all white kitchen and mostly modern kitchen.
Totally worth the drive.

follow the northstar, leading you back into my heart
you know when you go to a show and they play everything you want them to play and it's energetic and the crowd is alive? that was last nights show. it was fantastic Rural Alberta Advantage rock live. (even if Jay says they have one too many keyboards).
small venue was fantastic. great show.
there was a weird mix of frat boys, hipsters and my favourite - the chick with a giant tattoo on her calf of a woman in a tree pose. really, you like yoga so much you want a giant tree pose on your calf.
also, a random dude (total frat boy who also resembled Jonah Hill) bought me a beer because they wanted to stand in front of us. smooth.
oh and of course we found out about Osama at the show (via Twitter - how of the moment). and then we had to stay up and watch CNN.
off today, will try and do some homework...
